BCBUU Finishes Direct Election with 100 Percent Voting Rate
On Nov 5, the election of deputies to the Chaoyang District People's Congress in Beijing was formally conducted. BCBUU, as the 31st poll station of Liulitun subdistrict, Chaoyang district, finished the voting in a solemn, democratic and harmonious atmosphere.
To ensure a smooth running of the voting and every registered voter’s exercise of their rights, BCBUU has held many times of coordinating meetings among election workers and the 39 voters groups of faculty, staff and students registered to the 31st poll station before the voting. All participants, both the workers and voters, were informed with the clear instructions on voting and covid-19 prevention during the pandemic. Careful organization, standardized operation, well-defined duties, strict implementation of the process, and full cooperation of election workers and voters are all indispensable to a successful election.
At 11 am sharp, Mr. Yin Fubin, vice chair of the College Council, and Prof. Chen Jianbin, executive dean, took the lead in the line to cast their votes. All voters lined up orderly to the poll box with one-meter distance. Each one of them followed the voting process of checking identity, taking the ticket, filling out the ballot, and casting the ticket into the poll box. The whole voting was finished at 1 pm with all 1071 voters cast their ballots in person or by proxy. The voting rate is 100 percent.
The people's congress system is China's fundamental political system. The direct election of deputies to district people’s congress is the cornerstone of the system. Being active and serious in the direction election is showing respect to the national fundamental political system and the basic political rights of every citizen.
