BCBUU Holds Forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship
On Dec 10, BCBUU held the first “Creating, Thinking, and Enjoying” forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship on campus. Mr. Yin Fubin, executive vice chair of the College Council of Business College, Prof. Chen Jianbin, executive dean, and Prof. Zheng Li, vice dean, joined by Ms. Zhang Junling and Ms. Wang Ying, Chair and vice Chair of the College Council of Smart College, presented the forum with more than 50 faculty and students engaged in the campus entrepreneurial practices from both colleges. The forum was hosted by Mr. Li Chenfeng, vice chair of the College Council of Business College.
Mr. Yin stressed in his speeches that this forum was dedicated to offering students more opportunities and ways to cultivate and improve their abilities of innovation and entrepreneurship. BCBUU aims to achieve its mission of supporting regional development by training business professionals with practical skills through simulated competitions and real business startups operation.
Prof. Chen concluded the forum with good wishes to students. Entrepreneurship development, he pointed out, is like a great iceberg. What you see today is just a small part on top of the water. All students enthusiastic about it shall invest their passion on the practices in real business context with the help of their tutors, until they grow mature enough to take their social responsibilities.
Mr. Tao Feng, an expert in entrepreneurship education and campus VC partner, delivered a speech, “The way towards self-cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talent”, emphasizing a down-to-earth attitude as the core of the cause.
Ms. Ren Bifang, founder of the Million Elites (Beijing) Education Technology Development Co., LTD, walked attendees through the whole process of entrepreneurial competitions from idea creating to road show and the composition and ways of business planning. It is the duty of enterprise mentors, she pointed out, to broaden students’ visions and encourage them to innovate for a better entrepreneurial mind.
Dr. Guo Huixin, director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubator Base, BCBUU, reported the development of the base in the past year. Student delegators from entrepreneurial teams also shared their experience on the forum. There have been 6 new entrepreneurial teams in BCBUU, who have registered successfully 5 new companies in 2021. The number of businesses running in the base has reached 9 in total and some of their business models have won national or municipal competitions. All of the achievements are good results of BCBUU’s strategical support by following BUU’s motto of “learning to apply knowledge”.
