BCBUU Welcomes the Delegation from ECU College of Business

Date:2025-05-29

On May 26, a delegation of 13 faculty and students from East Carolina University College of Business (USA), led by Professor Tope Bello, Chair of the College's Internationalization Committee, visited the college for a friendly exchange marked by cultural interaction and academic dialogue. Ni Saili, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, attended the event upon invitation. The delegation was welcomed by Jiang Jingjing, Dean of the College, along with over 10 faculty and students from the English-taught program in International Economics and Trade.

Ni Saili extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and encouraged the East Carolina University participants to immerse themselves in the Chinese language environment to gain a deeper understanding of the richness of Chinese culture. He expressed hope that the visit would build a bridge for communication between the two institutions and pave the way for further academic collaboration and talent development.

Jiang Jingjing provided an overview of the college and highlighted the existing solid foundation for cooperation, noting that both institutions are members of the AACSB family. She emphasized that this exchange was an excellent opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen friendship, expressing anticipation for more productive collaborations in the future.

Faculty from both sides discussed potential collaborations in areas such as faculty exchanges, student mobility, and joint research. They agreed that leveraging complementary strengths and resource sharing would inject new vitality into both institutions and cultivate more business talents with international perspectives and innovative capabilities.

Zhang Yuxin, a faculty member from the International Economics and Trade program, facilitated a discussion between Chinese and American students on the trending topic, "The Impact of Digitalization on Today's Business Development." Students from both countries shared case studies based on their academic and life experiences, exploring the opportunities and challenges brought by digital transformation. The lively exchange of ideas sparked enthusiastic discussions and a vibrant atmosphere.

The college also organized a distinctive traditional Chinese cultural experience—dumpling making. Chinese and American students gathered around, with Chinese students demonstrating how to roll dough, fill wrappers, and fold dumplings, while sharing stories about their respective culinary traditions and daily lives. Laughter filled the room as uniquely shaped dumplings took form. Serving the freshly steamed dumplings not only conveyed warmth but also allowed the American visitors to appreciate the charm of Chinese culinary culture, further strengthening mutual bonds.

This visit marks a promising start for exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions. Moving forward, the college will continue to uphold its philosophy of open education, engaging in diverse and in-depth collaborations with high-quality international partners to enhance its globalized educational standards and provide students with broader development opportunities.
