RAIBS Facilitates AACSB in Successful Hosting of Chinese Schools Regional Meeting at APAC
From June 25 to 27, the AACSB Asia-Pacific Accreditation Conference (APAC) was held at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea. The Research Association on Internationalization of Business Schools (RAIBS), as a key strategic partner, actively supported and successfully organized a dedicated Chinese Schools Regional Meeting within the conference framework. This session emerged as a highlight of the Asia-Pacific conference, showcasing the cohesion and growing influence of Chinese business schools on the international accreditation stage.
At the outset of the meeting, Jiang Jingjing, Dean of BCBUU and representative of RAIBS’s council chair institution, delivered opening remarks via video. Drawing on the Business College’s accreditation experience, Jiang elaborated on the core value of participating in international accreditation systems such as AACSB for advancing the globalization of Chinese business education, enhancing educational quality, stimulating innovation, and building international recognition. Her speech set a strategic and forward-looking tone for the event.
Under the meticulous coordination of RAIBS, experts from association vice-chair institutions shared valuable insights. Presentations were given by Xi Jing, Vice Dean of the School of Management at Guangdong University of Technology; Lu Chunhong, Vice Dean of the School of Business Administration at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics; Zhang Xin, Vice Dean of the International Business School at Dalian Minzu University; and Mi Jinhong, Professor at the School of Management of Shanghai Maritime University. They focused on key stages, distinctive features, and innovative practices in their respective institutions’ AACSB accreditation processes. Topics included creatively integrating local cultural resources into international accreditation standards, effectively leveraging global high-quality educational resources, and how accreditation efforts tangibly promote substantive development and high-quality growth in business schools. These reports distilled the collective wisdom and valuable experience of leading Chinese business schools in their pursuit of international excellence.
The meeting fostered a warm and interactive atmosphere, with participants expressing strong recognition for the dynamic momentum displayed by Chinese institutions in international accreditation. During the conference, led by Professor Wang Xiaoguang of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, additional candid exchanges were made by Hu Bin, Vice Dean of Shanghai University of Engineering Science; Xiong Yan, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Shanghai Institute of Technology; Ruan Jinxiang, Dean of the School of Business at Taiwan’s Soochow University; Chai Jian, Executive Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Xidian University; and Liu Huizheng, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Beijing University of Technology. These contributions reflected the strong commitment and pragmatic actions of Chinese business education peers to align with international standards and amplify their global voice.
The successful hosting of this Regional Meeting for Chinese Institutions signifies that RAIBS’s organizational capabilities as a regional think-tank platform have gained recognition from international organizations, marking a significant elevation of its influence. More importantly, it sends a clear signal: Chinese business schools are integrating themselves into the global governance system of business education and international accreditation frameworks with greater confidence, openness, collaboration, and professionalism. By sharing achievements and exchanging experiences, Chinese institutions are not only demonstrating their unique educational philosophies and institutional strengths but also infusing international accreditation standards with Chinese wisdom, thereby expanding new horizons for the future development of global business education. The voice of China is becoming increasingly clear and resonant in the field of international accreditation.
