Formerly as our International Economy Research Institute, the Research Institute of Service Economy and Trade employs a staff of 9 researchers on our campus, all of whom are either doctors or PhD students, so that a research team of strong research force has been formed.   Meanwhile, its research has been mainly oriented towards the international service trade theories and policies, as well as the development of service trade in Beijing.   Its research features the close connection with local economic development, and uses Beijing service trade as its main domain of research. Therefore, the research institute has conducted in-depth research on the correlation between the strategic positioning of service trade development in Beijing and support to development factors and between service trade and transformation and upgrading of industrial structure, as well as on the development of service trade in key industries such as finance industry and transportation industry.  

　　In recent years, this research institute has completed a number of municipal or higher scientific research projects, such as Beijing Service Trade Research Base of the Business College, and published 4 monographs and dozens of theses. Besides, the institute has made active efforts in carrying out social services, and has played an important role in strengthening the team construction, focusing research orientations and building research platform(s).
