About BCBUU
When founded in 1978, Business College of Beijing Union University (BCBUU) was called the First Branch Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology. It was renamed as Textile Engineering College when incorporated into Beijing Union University (BUU) in 1985, and later transformed into the Business College in 1997. Upholding BUU’s motto, “Learning to apply knowledge”, and sticking to its mission “to supply future core talent of business administration and to advance applied innovation and research, in fulfilling our social responsibilities in regional social and economic development,” the College is striving to become a globally integrated business school that is highly valued by the regional communities. In July 2022, BCBUU won the initial accreditation of AACSB international, joining the league of less than 6% of the world's schools offering business degree programs. It is the first one among Beijing municipal business schools, and the 39th business school on Chinese mainland.
BCBUU is committed to the cultivation of high-quality business talent with international visions and innovation spirit. It currently has master programs in Finance and International Business, and undergraduate programs in International Economy and Trade, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, International Business, Information Management and Information System (Big Data management and Application). Among them, the disciplines of Finance, International Economy and Trade, Accounting (International Accounting) are ratified as national first-class specialty development projects. Its Accounting program is featured for the ACCA training. The College currently has over 900 full time students. Its graduates have been well-received by employers for their professional skills, fluent English, practical working style, fast adaptability, and communication abilities. The graduate employment rate has been stably above 95% over the past five years.
BCBUU boasts a high-quality faculty with strong innovative, practical capacities and international visions. 83.3% of the faculty members have doctor degrees. 69.7% of them are ranked in associate professor or above. 53% of them had studied or worked overseas, and 84.8% of them own practical experience in related industries.
BCBUU has a municipal demonstration center for experimental teaching, Economic and Trade Experimental Training Center. It has cooperated with over 40 enterprises, ensuring students with adequate field training hours. The College has also covered all courses with both online and offline support for the convenience of student to study wherever they are and whenever it is. Meanwhile, BCBUU enjoys its advantageous location in the CBD of Beijing, where strong business atmosphere, convergent international cultures, and active business activities provide real environment and conveniences for student business practices.
Since its initiation of international cooperative education projects in 2000. BCBUU has developed more than 30 international education projects with partners all around the world, from USA, Canada, UK, Korea, to Taiwan and Hongkong, China. Over 30% of each year’s graduates had participated in at least one international project thanks to the great efforts the College made on extending international cooperation at different level in different forms. BCBUU joined in AACSB international in 2013, applying the prestigious business accreditation standards to its education process and management and developing a unique business talent cultivation model and quality assurance system. In 2018, BCBUU, together with Management School, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, established the Research Association on Internationalization for Business Schools, offering a platform of communication and cooperation for peer colleges. More than 60 regional business colleges have joined in to explore development ways of “international paradigm with Chinese characteristics and local best practices” based on AACSB international accreditation.
Having been accredited by AACSB, BCBUU aims to find an innovative way of talent cultivation to build an internationalized business school with diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging by integrating AACSB business education standards into all-encompassing education with Chinese socialist values. It is determined to make the best of advantages of AACSB accreditation and the regional resources and opportunities brought by the fast development of Beijing for more thought leadership and societal impact.
