The research Institute of Management Science and Application
Founded in May, 2010, The BUU Research Institute of Management Science and Application is a Sino-British University-Level Research Institute relying on a key discipline under construction in our University, namely “ Management Science and Engineering” and assuming the mission of international scientific research cooperation. The major research force of this Institute has constituted an academic team of reasonable structure, stable orientation and high collaboration. In the field of IT service and management, this institute has established an orientation of research centered on Knowledge Management and Engineering, which accords with discipline development and local economic needs. Moreover, with its comprehensive advantages in terms of internationalization and applicability, the institute has conducted scientific research and social services in close conjunction with local economy.
Key Research Orientations
(1) Management Complexity and Knowledge Management,wherein the institute will conduct research on the mechanisms of knowledge sharing , transfer and collaboration on the basis of Complex Adaptive Systems Theory(CAS) and in the background of knowledge-based and corporate capability-based theories.
(2) Information System and Knowledge-Based Engineering, wherein the semantic information technology and information system technologies will be utilized to carry out an in-depth study of such issues as information flow, representation of semantic information, knowledge reasoning arising in semantic webs and distributed information systems.
(3)Supply Chain Management, wherein relevant research will be conducted mainly on the basis and management of supply chain technologies, as well as on the information management in supply chain, management of service supply chain, evaluation of supply chain performance and customer confidence, etc.
Important Research Achievements and Activities
In the field of IT service and management research, the institute has made certain achievements due to its consistent efforts in research. In recent three years, the institute has published more than 50 academic papers, in which there were 2 SCI/SSCI retrieval papers, 2 published monographs and 1 translated paper. Meanwhile, it has been endowed with 3 key subjects of Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science and Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, 8 municipal and bureau-level scientific research projects and a number of latitudinal subjects. As a result, the institute has secured a total research fund of 2355000 Yuan in these three years. The major achievements include:
