Business College Students Achieve Remarkable Success in National and International Competitions

Students from the Business College have demonstrated exceptional talent and innovation by securing top awards in three prestigious competitions—spanning computer design, global brand planning, and market research—showcasing the institution's commitment to practical education and international excellence.

1. Triumph in Computer Design Competition

Recently, the 2025 (18th) China College Students Computer Design Competition Beijing Regional Round concluded successfully. The event attracted 1,230 entries from 44 universities in Beijing. Through intense online evaluations and live finals, students from BCBUU stood out with their creativity and professional skills, winning one second prize and five third prizes. This achievement highlights the College's effectiveness in fostering computer literacy and practical innovation among students.

The participants competed in categories such as information visualization, big data applications, and micro-lesson design. Their projects covered diverse themes like cultural heritage, science education, healthy living, and ecological protection, using computer technology as a brush to paint creative and meaningful works. Notable award-winning entries include:

  • Second Prize:  "Medicinal Food Treasure: A Health Guide Based on Medicinal Food Homology" (by Wang Qianling et al.; advisors: Xue Yun, Shen Guilan).  This work delves into the traditional Chinese concept of "the homology of medicine and food," where food and medicine are integrated for wellness—a cultural practice rooted in ancient Chinese philosophy that emphasizes preventive health care.

  • Third Prizes: Works like "A Millennium Glance in the Dim Light" (exploring historical culture) and "Moonlight Carries Sorrow—Appreciating a Classic Poem" (focusing on poetry analysis), among others, each demonstrated unique perspectives on real-world issues.

Throughout the preparation, students and advisors collaborated closely to overcome technical challenges, refining parameters and content through repeated efforts. This "competition-driven learning" approach allowed teams to hone their skills under faculty guidance, turning ideas into polished products.

2. Silver Award in Global Brand Planning Competition

On June 1, 2025, the Global Brand Planning Competition was held at Singapore Management University, featuring 21 teams from 18 universities across regions including mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand. Organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Global Chinese Marketing Federation, the event aimed to build a professional, diverse, and international platform for students, while exploring new pathways for Chinese brands to "go global."

A team from BCBUU, guided by mentors Wang Rong and Wang Shuzhen, won the silver award with their project "Xiangboju Brand Planning Book." The work impressed judges with its innovative ideas, in-depth market analysis, and feasible strategies, reflecting the students' expertise in brand planning. "Xiangboju" refers to a traditional Chinese brand related to craftsmanship or heritage, and the project showcased how local brands can be revitalized for international markets—a key aspect of China's economic strategies. This success not only highlights the students' capabilities but also underscores the College's progress in cultivating talents with a global outlook.

3. Excellence in Market Research Competition

In the recently announced results of the "CP Cup" 15th National College Student Market Research and Analysis Competition (CRA) Beijing Division, teams from our Business College excelled, securing two first prizes, two second prizes, and six third prizes. This accomplishment stems from the College's "course-competition integration" model, where competition topics are embedded into coursework, such as data analysis classes, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world surveys.

Under the guidance of instructors, students conducted in-depth social research, producing high-quality reports that demonstrate their professional skills. This model aligns with educational reforms in China that emphasize practical training to meet societal needs, ensuring graduates are job-ready. The awards recognize both the students' innovation and the College's dedication to blending teaching with competitions.

These achievements collectively illustrate the Business College's success in fostering well-rounded talents through hands-on experiences. We extend our congratulations to the students and encourage more to participate in such events, contributing to the College's vibrant academic environment. As we move forward, the institution will continue to strengthen international collaborations and educational innovations, empowering students to shine on global stages and drive the future of Chinese industries.
